Headed to Staten Islan to have dinner with Liz and her family. Took a few shots at a nearby boardwalk and a Shoprite.

Open Ice

Took the chance to hit up an Open Ice night at Floyd Hall Arena. Brought my toys along and just shot away. FYI... I was experimenting action shots. It's a little different from the scene I'm use to like the outdoors and portrait. The rink was a new place to work with. I don't think it came out that bad at all. Gotta read up more info!

I had a fun shoot today with my sister again. We were just doing it for laughs and giggles. I told her to use more colors for the shoot so she could look vibrant. I was basically getting to know my flashes a little better. I used both the 580exII (on camera) and 430exII (camera left) this time to get more light.

Btw... I'm so intrigued by the effects a snoot makes...

 ... so I constructed a homemade snoot which I made out of fun foam.

You can purchase them at a local arts and crafts store like AC Moore or Michael's.
